War doesn't determine who is right, just who is left.

To the British,

Thank you for being so calm in the face of an attack. Thank you for not instantly flooding the airwaves with threats of retaliation and promises to bomb uncivilised nations. Thank you remembering that in war, it's the civilians that suffer, and a conventional war depends on the opposite side wearing an easily recognizable uniform. (Tip for the rest of us: terrorists look just like you do except more/less attractive.)

For the most part, those of you whom I've spoken to have been absolutely calm and dispassionate about the whole thing. So, thank you for that as well. I agree that the last thing you need to do is rush around invading countries in hopes of looking pro-active, so thank you for learning from American mistakes and not confusing justice with revenge.

Thank you for your stiff upper lips and lack of emotional 'spooge'. Thank you for thinking things through, remembering you've survived worse and carrying on with your daily lives with almost supernatural stoicness. Thank you for thinking about what war really is, and taking into consideration that killing civilians in a different country just makes you the terrorists over there because you're sinking to their level.

Thank you for Earl Grey.

Thank you for drinking tea, not making war. Thank you for calm reflection, reasoned interchange of opinions and polite disagreement - thank you for doing instead of feeling, being practical instead of poseurs.

Thank you, in other words, for reacting the way America should have.

~Fickle.

I will not retract this statement if it turns out Ryuuji-mun is dead. I will retract it if Britain does go to war but I doubt that'll happen. They're too sensible for such idiocies.
