Letter to my yuletide writer!
Dear Yuletide Santa,
~Wildcard.
First of all, you are awesome for signing up and volunteering to do this. Thank you so much in advance.
Secondly, I know that at least two of my requests had specific scenarios I would love, but please, feel free to disregard them if you like. They're just the kind of things that I had spinning around in my head -- if you've got a different plot you'd like to write, go for it!
Explicit sex is completely fine by me, but definitely not a requirement, and at least three of the requests I made (since I have no idea which fandom you can write for/will write for) would work well as dark fics but again, that's a personal preference of mine and not something you need to stick to. Especially since humor fics rock as well.
Also, I realized after submitting my requests that my first request might be a little impossible/intimidating if you don't actually have the right background to be able to realistically write her family, so don't worry too much about that? I'll freely admit to loving stories that acknowledge a character's ethnicity and background, which is why I asked for that specifically but if you can't work that into the fic, please don't worry about it. Or if you want, you could do the research to try to figure out what her life would have been like, but no pressure -- I really just requested mostly because I'm Asian and I like having a little diversity in my fandoms. XD If you want to go for exploring culture clash, that would be fun, especially if you made it comic!
Request two was really just because I love the book but I'm sorry they had to suffer so much. And the setting itself is really interesting to play with, and the author's writing style is just gorgeous. So again, if you think that I made it too specific, just snag anything you like, though I would prefer you stick with that pairing, please. Dubious con or uncertain yes-no first time would be lovely, but I'm pretty sure that would be hard to do ICly with those characters if not impossible, so you can definitely ignore that.
Request three, I'd love a light-hearted piece if you're writing that. Because the characters are friends underneath it all, and I like the way that always underlies their banter. You can ignore the male character that got thrown in there if he's too hard to write. This is probably the request that I left the most open, so feel to free to do whatever you like, though seeing them in college (and FINALLY out of high school) might be nice.
And finally, the fourth request is probably the hardest/weirdest to fill, so if I made you do a double-take and wonder what on earth I was on when I wrote that, I really am very sorry and you can feel free to ignore that idea completely and just write the het couple that I suggested. XD I had to throw that idea out though, just on the off-chance that anyone could write it, but again, no obligation to stick to it at all. I was kinda wondering what would happen with a bad boy L, or if L could have saved D somehow (I'm trying to be as vague as possible, just in case), but take it down whatever path you like, if you do end up writing this one. Darkfic is love, though.
Anyway, basically, just have fun writing and don't feel pressured to stick to what I suggested if it doesn't click for you or inspire you. And again, thank you!
Happy Yuletide. ♥
