I would tell Devlin that some times people can't finish things whenever someone else wants them to and that we can go find something to do while he waits for Bakura and... make no comment on the Marik part.

Bakura would be waiting (im)patiently and at the mention of the Rod blink a few times, shocked at both the request and the 'please.' Reluctantly, he'd pull away and take a breath and ask Marik where the Rod is... shocked, among other things, so he doesn't go off teasing Marik and really wants to know where the Rod is...
