Smallville, season 1, eps 1-6.

So, took my lovely 17-inch screen laptop (the new one called Argent) down to the living room to make sure this laptop (Azure) wouldn't distract me, and got myself to watch ep 1, 2 and halfway through 3. And so far, I like it. XD

(In case you're wondering, one of the girls on my floor lent me Season 1, so I've been meaning to watch through it for a week.)

Season 1, Episode 1 = Squee. Pretty Clark. And OMG, Lex is so cute. So very painfully cute. Especially as a kid with red hair. He's all tiny and cute and poor little kiddie. Total and complete w00bie, I'm serious. And yeah, I know that he grows up to be the bad guy and everything, but Clark saves him and he gets Clark off the scarecrow and just -- guh. All the Smallville slash or Lex/Clark slash suddenly makes sense to me. AFTER ONE EPISODE. Also, Lana-wise, she's an adorable little kid. Way, way cute. But then again, all kids are cute. It's really hard to find a non-cute one. Having had quite a few people bash her to me, though, I'm going into this with pre-conceived notions of what she's like but trying to ignore them in favor of making up my own mind. Also, having read a Chloe/Clark fic before, it's nice to get a hook on what she looks like. I feel incredibly sorry for the guy who lost twelve years of his life, and think it's somewhat understandable he wanted revenge. Though torching the entire gym seems just a little extreme.

Did I mention Lex is cool? Because he is! He's trying so hard to pay Clark back and get him together with Lana. XD Total awwww.

Episode Two: EW EW EW EW EW EW EW. Bug squick! Also, Papa Roach music? I can't believe that I recognized it as soon as it was playing. So embarrassing. Also, that makes three guys crushing on Lana. Hm. She's pretty, yeah, but -- okay, nevermind, thought back to my school years. Three guys is believable.

Episode Three: Lex is so cool. He fences his father, and wants to hire more people and has clever bookkeeping skills! And oh yeah, stuff about Chloe being a good detective, and Lana dropping off the cheerleading squad and Clark being on the football, blah. Really. Lex's face-off with his father was the cool part. And his receiving a drink that was totally different to what he actually ordered but drinking it anyway and getting a bit of cream on his lips, gah. *squee*

Damnit. And I don't even like the skinhead look normally and I know he's going to be a bad guy! *dying* Why why why why do I always like the bad slash morally ambiguous ones? Prince Diamond from Sailor Moon. Arashi from Paradise Kiss. Taki from Gravitation. THERE IS A PATTERN HERE.

Apparently a good way to figure out who the bad guys of a given series are is to see who Fickle ends up liking. Sigh. Why must I like him when I know he's going to be the baddie?!

Episode 4: ...Yeah. Okay. The SECOND Lana kissed Clark, it was totally obvious that she was Tina. But also, how cool would those powers be? I'd love to be a shape-shifter. Oh. And Lex is cool. Because he gets rid of people in a completely unconventional way. And oooh, juvie hallness. Cool in a lot of wrong ways. Just like him getting his would-be-blackmailer to help him figure out how he survived going off the bridge. Also, Chloe is very snarky. I like that.

...The scene with the body in the clock is FUCKING SCARRING. *actually had to cover up her mouth when the corpse fell out and hit the floor*

Also, randomly, does Lana have to wear quite so much pink? But I do like her talking to her parents' grave. And Tina is PSYCHO. You don't just kill people because you want to take their lives! She had enough money, she could have hopped on a bus to Metropolis and got out of there easily enough.

Hey, is that a crowbar? Jason Todd officially doesn't like Tina.

Also, Clark? Stop with the emotional masochism. You don't need to watch the girl you like making out with her boy-- YES! Thank you, Mom, for saying what I was thinking. XD

Confession time. I was planning on only watching one disc but I think that I like it enough to pop in a second one. Episodes 5-8, here I come.

Episode Five: YES! Someone who isn't crushing on Lana. No, wait, he's a jerk. Damnit. And an idiot for walking out on ice all on his own over a lake that's been forbidden for swimming in OR skating on. Though nobody deserves to die from drowning, especially not just for being a jerk.

Chloe rocks for the "And both of you? Treat me better." speech. Tomboys who hang with the gang really need to put their foot down when it comes to being one of the team. AND OMG LEX is so cool for the "I come in peace" crack. Wait. Is he in a trenchcoat? Is he? Because that would be so freakin' cool. BLAD MEN ARE NOT MEANT TO BE COOL.

Now I want to see him wearing a "Real men don't waste testostrone growing hair" t-shirt. And he does MORE batting for Lana/Clark in the coffeeshop. So awesome. So very awesome.

Annnd I'm still trying to figure out if that's a trenchcoat or not. RADIOHEAD concert, whoa, onstantly thought of my friend Numa who was a total Radiohead fan back in high school. "You're like the younger brother I never had" -- and he makes a BET with Clark on how fast Clark can ask Lana out. GAH. SO much love.

And the showe scene is scary. Scary like making me want to take a knife with me next time I shower. Damnit, wasn't I avoiding watching American Psycho because of scary shower scenes?! And wow. That's very Bride of Frankstein. Must be the blue skin.

You know, Chloe bringing up that blue is a good color on Clark made me think about his eyes -- I keep thinking of Clark's eyes as being a really bright, intense blue like in the comics but they aren't in the show. They've got a greenish tint to them, actually. And aww, defensive reading. I can't help but like Lana a ittle for that, mostly because I can get the idea of escaping into books. XD And Clark is a total cheater for using X-Ray vision to figure out what card she drew but he had good intentions at least.

Ohhhh. Lex offering investing advice. And trying to apparently get a hold on the Kent farm? Is this the start of evil!Lex?

"I don't know what it is about your Clark, but I haven't felt this good in two days." Said by Sean while straddling Clark and sucking heat out of him.

That sent my mind straight into slash mode.

"Do you despise me that much?" Awww. Lex. You're so adorable. And unloved. And w00bie-like. W00BIE, I tell you. And if I say it, it must be true.

Episode Six: Hm. Episode themed around destiny and predicting the future? That's actually one of my pet peeves, in a weird way. I'm not a fan of the future being predictable, and anyone who can foresee the future implies that there's a certain direction in which it has to go, which invalidates free will because if there's only one possible way for everything to go, then none of your decisions count for anything. I'm reserving judgment until I see a little more of it.

And OH MAN, Clark worrying about Lex getting hurt because of his driving skills or lack thereof is ADORABLE. Really. They're all snarky and snipey and Lex is so cynical. Also, wow, blue bottle. Drinking out of that looks so very awesome. *loves anything in blue bottles*

Okay. That vision made NO SENSE. Totally had to be an allegory for something. Endless graveyard like being the last person on earth? But Lex in the Oval Office is just snicker-inducing. It's so hard to remember he's going to be the bad guy when he's such a cool teen.

Ohgods. "I was hoping you could give me some insight into Clark." Slashvile. Totally.

"I believe we make our own destiny". SEE! SEE THE COOLNESS? And he refused to let her read his future. So much love for Lex. So. Much. Love.

Also. Yum. Clark is cute. Must be the hair, really. I'd normally like it longer but the color so lovely. And his bone structure is so fucking yummy. It really, really is. And Clark's mom has GUTS. I love her hitting Harry with a vase. And being willing to die if it'll keep her husband safe.

Though, Luther's vision? Ouch. Way to remind me that I'm not actually meant to like him.

Alright. That's enough for now.

Final conclusion? Lex is a w00bie and made of cool. Lana makes me think of Dana from Batman Beyond. Clark is a sweetheart, Chloe's pretty cool too, and Pete is such a guy.

And did I mention that Lex is a w00bie?
