ygo_rpg ficlet written for the purposes of inspiration
Ryuuji twisted around, tracing over the two scar-tattoos on his back lightly. The first interlaced bar had a Celtic look to it, starting at the top of his back and ending up above his shoulder blades. Perfectly symmetrical, it stretched from one end of his back to another, tapering into ribbon-like points. The second was smaller than the first, the tops of it just touching the bottoms of the first, and ending just above where his breastbone would be at the back. The larger one, the first one, was Marik’s, the second had been made by Bakura. They had literally been carved into his skin to mark him as their possession.
So ugly… Ryuuji thought softly, tilting his head slightly. So ugly and I’m so beautiful… A sudden smile touched his lips, and grabbing a handful of skin markers, he began to color in the scars, first using the black marker to go over the lines and make them clearer. He tried to match the scheme to the spectrum, having the bright, vivid colors semi-fade into each other, then used the black marker again to add new shapes to the two lace-like, curving upwards bars.
Several hours later, when he finished, a bright angel smiled out from his back, rainbow wings outspread fully, clothed in a white robe and haloed with barbed wire. The expression on the angel’s face was one of hope, and in its hands, it held a flaming sword. The temporary tattoo stretched over Ryuuji’s entire back, and the scars which had inspired it were long lost under the riot of color. Smiling, Ryuuji headed out to have it made permanent.
After that, he would try to find Malik. Just to see if there too, something beautiful could be made from something ugly.
It's a sort of AU from the ygo_rpg, since it is set AFTER Otogi returns from Devlin. Very slight hint of shounen-ai at the very end, Ryuuji/Malik. And yes, I do find it worrying that I'm writing AU ficlets for an RP. Especially when I have so much else to do.

My art isn't all that great. Nor is my writing - nothing worth *giving gifts* over, so to speak. But, it's all I can do - sadly...
