TV Ignorance!
Okay, so I usually avoid memes that aren't fic-based, but I just had to give the following one a whirl. Taken from
oneangrykate.
the TV IGNORANCE MEME.
I will tell you what your favorite shows are about, based solely on what I have gathered from my flist...
American Idol: People singing and getting voted off by viewers. Or by judges. And there's a guy called Simon something involved, so it's kinda like a musical of Simon Says.
Avatar Aang: An avatar called Aang? Who has a blue swirly thing on his forehead. And people using elemental attacks to fight each other. Some girl dying, too?
Bleach: Shinigami! Someone called Gin. Someone else called Rukia. Ducks in a bathtub, maybe? And a guy who can control plants and is called Hakkai or something because he's part-demon, but I know that bit from an RP.
Battlestar Galatica: Uh. Space? Probably a battleship. And people. Fighting. In Space.
Death Note: Light and L and Raito and mind games. And a lack of sex or slash but people put that in anyway. And handcuffs. And a notebook that kills you if your name gets written down into it. And Light being a serial killer, or possibly that's L. And I think that Raito and Light are the same person, or is that Raito and L?
Dexter: A serial killer who kills other killers because that helps keep his destructive urges on the side of light and sugar cookies.
Doctor Who: A time-travelling alien guy? And a companion called Jack and another called Rose. And a ship called the TARDIS and Daleks which are a race of killer aliens. Except one Emo Dalek that's the last one left. Oh, and the doctor keeps dying and coming back in new reincarnations.
Heroes: People with superpowers that fight crime? There's a girl called Claire that's a cheerleader on the team and gets cut open during one episode!
Supernatural: Dean and John (or is that Sean?) Wincester having incestuous sex. Or being brothers in a very gay way. I swear that's what my flist says!
Veronica Mars: A chick who's a detective and schoolgirl at once. Like Nancy Drew, but more hardcore. And some guy called Logan that's snarky. The chick's blonde. And British, I think. Or the thing's set in Britain. One of the two.
If I missed a fandom you've talked about in your journal, comment and I'll try to explain it unless I'm also into it. XD

kay, well, there's hardcore to which kids dance like they're fighting invisible ninjas and there's metalcore which isn't the same as nu-metal and there's pop punk which is like punk lite so that you can shout along with it, and pop which is all happy and fizzy. And there's R&B which is basically jazz with lyrics and hip-hop which is like metal only black and there's funk which is basically people going crazy with electric-love. And Yellowcard tried to do a Wall of Death and failed because they're like Hilary Duff, who's what Britney Spears used to be.
And oh, yeah, there's alt-rock as well which is basically an excuse for people to act pretensious because they like Coldplay and Radiohead. And there's also Europop which is the European version of pop meaning it has less sugar and fizz than American pop does. Imagine Eurotrash singing while drunk and you've got the idea. Classics and oldies are songs from the 80's and before, but real classical music is Beethoven and stuff that doesn't have any lyrics but isn't jazz. Though jazz sometimes has lyrics, but then it's hard to tell apart from R&B. Soul is the old-fashioned version of R&B and it involves really big hair, kind of like metal does, except metal has shredding riffs and soul has weird dancing. J-Rock and J-Pop are basically excuses for boys to look pretty and do gay stuff with each other on stage, and both J-Rock and J-Pop sound like the exact same genre. If J-Jazz existed, it'd probably sound the same as well.
And people make remixes if the original songs suck. But if the original songs don't suck too badly, they do covers of it instead which basically means a band or singer redoes someone else's song because they used to sing lots of karaoke when they were little.
Tada! Everything I ever learnt about the music scene via my flist and MSN. XD

"The show consists of a panel of four performers and comedians who create characters, scenes and songs on the spot based on audience suggestions, or pre-written prompts from the host, all in the style of short form improvisation games. The show takes the form of a fake game show where the host arbitrarily assigns points and randomly chooses a winner at the end of each episode."
XD I find it amusing - the American one... I didn't so much like the original, as I've seen some episodes of it. Far too... serious, I feel.
xDD And you did an excellent job at that ^_~
