Now my question is first time everyone paid $10 later they get $ 1 refunded. So everybody paid $9 $9 * 3 = $27 The waiter put $2 in his pocket. $27 + $2 = $29 So, where is the remaining $1?
Well they each pay 10 bucks: 10+10+10=30 Now the waiter finds out its 25 bucks, and returns 3 The Waiter now has 27 bucks from three people. 9*3=27. ^^, the 2 dollars come into the total bill. And beat you, took me 40 seconds and a piece of paper ^^.
Now here goes one for you.
You are given a number of medicine tablets and you know that they're all of equal weight. One tablet of a greater/lesser weight is added to the pile. Now you've got mixed medicines completely indistinguishable to the naked eye.
Now, how would you find said tablet with only one weight check? Remember, you're allowed to weight only once.
A hint could be to break them up into groups. You can only read the weight on the scales once though. This one should take you longer than 5 minutes :). Good luck.
