My parents still don't believe I'm asexual, for what it helps. Having a boyfriend probably isn't helping much with that either -- I'm sure they think that if I were in the same country with him, I'd be sleeping with him. Oy.

And yay for you having someone to clear the path. My parents don't even believe that asexuality exists, let alone anyone else that defines himself/herself as that. And I don't want kids either! I hope my parents can get that. >_> I hope.

XD I know the Sri Lankan community kept an eye on me -- they were the ones that complained to my mother that I'd been seen hanging out with my first boyfriend, back at the stage that we were just talking. And my mother once freaked out because she came into a room and saw me sitting on Kathy's lap so that we could fit on one chair while watching anime.
