lj strikeout '07/warriors for innocence
If your flist hasn't already exploded about lj's spree of deleting journals based on their interests, go take a look over here.
There's also protest-meme going around where you remove all your interests and replace them with simply 'freedom' or 'freedom of speech' in addition to signing the petition linked to in that entry.
The whole mess has even made it onto Fandom Wank.
Personally, I'm curious. Do people with Paid Accounts get refunds on their remaining time if their journals are deleted/suspended for completely ridiculous reasons? I don't think that I have anything triggering in my interests, but if mine goes under, you can bet that I'm going to inquire about the logistics of this.

But I looked through the list of deleted communities and I saw something called 'wonkaslash.' Good job LJ. As if that shitty new movie didn't ruin it enough, fangirls had to join the fray, hssss.
I wonder what Roald Dahl would have to say about slash? Heh.

And ha, the mess made it onto f_w about an hour after Femme's first post on the topic. I'd read what they were saying but fucking journalfen never works for me.

Like me...But I do think LJ could have done worst. And they definitely did their best to defend us at the start from what I've read. It's just the HP and personal deletions that really have me wary.

There's rumour that some places with "questionable" icons are also being removed as well. I'm not sure, though, if their INTERESTS started it and THEN their icons helped. I temporarily removed my chibi-love icons because really, I would be highly POed if my journal was deleted for something that's purely innocent-cute. (And sometimes frightening).
If you see the latest "news" section on LJ there's about 50 pages worth of people leaving messages in hopes of Livejournal giving us some feedback/news on what they're doing (and how they plan on fixing those journals that are innocent of any real crime). There's also people pointing out that they had warned LJ of specific journals/communities that were in fact a part of what should have been deleted and received a "sorry, can't do anything," sort of response. Now, they're deleting without research.
This makes me sad, indeed.
Oh yes, another rumour (no idea if it's been proven true or false yet) is that there is spyware/virus/trojans and such on the website WFI.

XDDDD
As for everything else, I feel horrible for you guys. I remember getting a pic from you where some guy came over a Barbie *still has the creeps from that*, and I think it ended in freedom of speech so they keep it there. Once you say one thing isn't allowed though lots of other things fall too. I'm hoping this works out. This is obviously too large to police, you'd just have to rely on the complaints system in the long run.
