Icon Offer: International Blog Against Racism Week.

See the icons above? I'm willing to make similar icons for anyone that's either taking part in International Blog Against Racism Week or on my flist.

All I need is a comment asking for one, a photo of you or a doll of you (I'd prefer a doll, which you can easily make by going to Dollz Mania where they have a variety of skin colors and hairstyles), and information about what country flag you want and what [insert here] pride.

For example, to make my icon, I would have needed someone to comment with a doll and "Sri Lanka flag, Asian Pride". For the Trinidad icon, I would have needed a comment with the doll and "The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago flag, Trini pride".

First come, first served unless you have the double-plus of being on my flist and taking part in IBARW! Please note that I can only do one flag on the icons -- if you have multiple nationalities, like me, pick whichever one you think you're most proud of being or want to represent you the most.

I would ask for one, but I don't want to inconvenience you since I could probably do it myself just as easily. Also, I don't know what kind of pride I'd want to exhibit, since I'm not very nationalistic. I've always had mixed feelings about declaring "so-and -so pride!" For certain people/minorities it's seen as OK, but let's say, for example, some people started making "Straight Pride!" parades or "White Pride!" flags... Hmm, this might be a good topic for a blog on racism. =P

XD Fair enough. And I know what you mean, I'm so much of a jumble that I picked Sri Lankan Pride mostly because Austrian Pride would make no sense and American Pride would have felt like cheating.

And White Pride isn't a nationality, technically :P I really do need to redo mine -- it's the shoddiest of the lot because it's the one I made first, before I perfected the technique.

Well, I say "White Pride" because I have seen "Black Pride" and "Azn Pride" (yes, actually spelled that way, rofl). Where do you get the animated flags? And what program do you use to animate the gifs?

P.S. I think many people would disagree with calling American pride "cheating", considering how many uber-nationalistic Americans there are. XD;

Honestly, don't have enough of an ethnic or natural heritage to really take pride in much. But I love the icon style!

And well, I suppose that sock isn't such a bad place to live. It has an icon with TEXT, after all. What more could you want to be happy? :P

*dances at my icon* When I was little-little and would take tests in Elementary School that would ask your... how did they word it... *ponders* I don't remember how ... they worded it, but instead of "White" I would look to see which option would list Polish - and German. And would sometimes even write it out - though, they wanted me to put "White" - I'm pretty sure it wasn't yet "Caucasian". But, yeah, they wanted "White" and I would handwrite "Other" and put "Polish" or "Polish and German." Psshaw.
