Take that, HIV!
Link of the Day: HIV Neutralized.'
With the latest advances in treatment, doctors have discovered that they can successfully neutralise the HIV virus. The so-called ‘combination therapy’ prevents the HIV virus from mutating and spreading, allowing patients to rebuild their immune system to the same levels as the rest of the population.
Forget Dumbledore being gay, THIS has to be the best news of the month! ♥

If they can consistently do this and bring this treatment to the masses..this will indeed be one of the first great finds of the 21st Century.

(They do a lot of this kind of research, particularly on cheaper combo-drugs, here in Norway)
What the article doesn't mention is:
1. It's bl**dy expensive to use over any length of time...
(In other words, you can forget all about it in third-world countries and well... for everyone who's not filthy rich, have a very good health-insurance, or live in a country with tax-funded medical services)
2. The patient needs to have 'rest periods' from the treatment og risk being poisoned by the very medicines used to save his life. In these periods he would be more susceptible for flare-ups if his immune-system is exposed to stresses.
Also, the patient will still be HIV-positive and contagious.
