it is a fucked up way, unfortunately. Being a mother now, and going through what I did when I was younger (along with things other than this individual) I'm a bit more protective of my kids (specifically my daughter) so they don't go through what I went through.

There wasn't anything I could do then, but there's a lot I can do now. =)
