Look who managed to survive midterms!

...or at least, survive taking them. No guarantee that I passed after all. XD

Had my Calc midterm on Thursday, it didn't go as badly as I had expected or as well as I had hoped, and my French oral midterm on Friday. That one actually went pretty well, I think. Stayed online until 5:30, went to bed at 6 and woke up 1, then had broken sleep until 4. *coughs* And the funny thing is, I'm not naturally nocturnal. I'm usually glad to get offline at around midnight-2 so that I can get my sleep. I haven't been checking my friendslist or commenting much for the last few days though because of the midterms and the toll they took me. (They stole my soul! Or tried to, but found that it was gone already, at which point they filed a suit against me for knowingly and maliciously pretending to be human with intent to waste their time. Needless to say, the case was thrown out of court for being too obscene to mention over the dinnertable).

Have been doing a very interesting AU RP with Dani over the last few days. *smirks* No more needs to be said. Oh yes, Kat asked me to post part of an RP I did with him for Kime's sake, so here it is. Warnings for weird psychological midntwisting between Zorc and Marik.

The figure pivoted to face him, the whites of its eyes and the black of its hair the only things untouched by the Shadow Realm that had infected the darkling's body and spirit. "You've grown weaker."

Marik narrowed his eyes at that, a scowl touching his lips. "I have not."

Gliding up to him, stopping outside the rays of the light, the figure half-accused, half-stated, "You're turning human."

At that, Marik's eyes widened with surprise, the dark spirit suddenly swinging his legs off the chair to sit properly, hands gripping the armrest tightly. Almost snarling, he told the figure, "I am not."

"You're not human yet, but you're no longer pure either." The tone of the figure was detached, careless. Like Marik's used to be.

"I have a human body. How can I stay pure like that?" Marik managed to ask instead of hiss.

"If you pour water into a jug, is the water the jug or simply water within a jug-shaped container?" The figure replied.

Eyes narrowing again, Marik reasoned, "In that case, what makes you think I'm becoming mortal?"

"Because you are." The light suddenly dimmed, then flickered out completely as the skylight closed without anyone touching the dial to control it, as the figure glided forwards to the now-shadowed yami. "Amusement. Frustration. Curiosity. Pain. Pity. Those are all such human things to feel..." As it spoke, it pressed a shadow-made hand against Marik's chest, right over where the heart would be. "You're still dark, but you're no longer a pure shadow. You're no longer one of us as you used to be."

"I-" Marik cut off the first words that came to his lips, instead glowering up at the other. He tried to move forward slightly, but the one hand exerted an unstoppable pressure, forcing him to remain seated. Tilting his head back, the gold of his hair seeming tarnished by the closeness of the other, Marik argued, "A few emotions do not make me human."

A laugh that sounded like the shattering of dreams sounded from the lips of the creature that was holding Marik in place before it answered, "How many drops of wine does it take to make water lose its purity?"

Now onto what I am calling The Appreciation Meme:

Make the people on your friendslist feel appreciate. Post a short paragraph (or long) for each of them, stating why you like them and brighten up their day by doing so.

Found it on the livejournals of [livejournal.com profile] lapseofself and [livejournal.com profile] kimetara

White Rain: Ranting about other, inferior RPs and mocking them with you is incredibly fun, as is discussing most subjects. I pity your Atem though, and find the way you fill your journal with fandom stuff interesting. Not that I'm complaining about the links to different sites and updates on stories, but don't you ever write about yourself? I'm sure that there is more to you than a love of several different fandoms and yaoi.  Though tossing challenges at you is always fun as well!

Fyredra: You're the newest addition and I don't really know much about you yet - except that you disappear for long periods of time to engross yourself in anime (and really, what better reason could one have for disappearing?). You RP a good Mai though, and I'm looking forwards to seeing what else you do with her, once you get more involved in the RP. ^_^

Mamono: So we don't agree on almost anything (Bush vs. Kerry, fluff vs. dark, yaoi vs. non-yaoi, French vs. German), so what? We still manage to get on reasonably well and have fun, random conversations. Seto's Spoon of Doom is still no match for Marik's Spatula of Death though. I will admit he has a nice trenchcoat though. Flares prettily. *pats it sneakily* And you make great icons. I'm always eagerly checking them out. Besides which, you seem to be a nice person as well, and I hope things work out with your sister.

EKYO: You are such fun, hikari-mun! Even if you are evil enough to support thiefshipping behind my back, our random conversations and OOC RPs always cheer me up and leave me laughing. Except when I'm breaking your bones, in which case I'm still laughing, just feeling a little weird about doing so. *sighs for inherent morals* I don't actually know all that much about you, but you're definitely fun to both RP-wise and OOC, and I do worry about you when you disappear. As the Hurricane Ivan incident proved. One more thing : Start updating your livejournal again!

Neko: You'd definitely have to be the sweetest, more caring person I know, and I think that it's amazing you don't annoy the hell out of me by doing so. Of course, your love of strange pairings and admitted occasional longings for darkness probably help stop you from coming off as priggish. Seriously though, I think that it's amazing how you manage to care about people you've never met - people as annoying as Kat - and I am eternally grateful to you for trying to help him while I was gone. That, if nothing else, - and believe me, there is plenty else - has earned you my lifelong friendship. ^_^

Dani: *pounce* Sorry, just had to get that out of the way. Right, where to begin now? You are an amazing artist and the two pictures you sent me are hung up on my cupboard, earning strange looks from my roommates whenever they see them. I like to think that they give my roommates nightmares. You are also a wonderful person, no the less the kind because you have a definite blood-and-knife fetish, and I always like talking or RPing with you. Be it AU, OOC or even *gasp* serious! I wish that I could help you more, but I guess that all I can do really is offer you my support, friendship and send you candy. And yaoi pics. Lots of them. XD Even if your drawing skills leave me stunned and your icons leave me awed.

Sorsha: I think that the pouncing originated with you. I'm not 100% sure, but I do think that it is your fault that perfectly innocent people (of which I'm obviously one) cannot enter OOC threads without fear of being pounced and forced to meep. *nods* Evil, evil, evil Sorsha! Then again, as one of the four original evils, what else would I expect from you? It's a shame you quit Gaia, though maybe now that you're on my lj friendslist, we can have fun little chats again. ^_^

Kime: Young trainee, learn well the ways of evil! You too, shall one day infect the world while smiling brightly and innocently. And while we're waiting for you to reach that stage, we can always just enjoy ourselves by chasing down bumps and meeps, pouncing people whom are foolish enough to venture near us and sneakily spreading evil while pretending not to. And white text. How can we ever forget the wonders of white text?   Whether plotting evil with you or simply chatting, I enjoy your company greatly, and you are one of the most vivcious, thoughtful people that I know, strange as it seems to use those two adjectives when describing the same person.

Crystal: Graphic-maker extraordinaire, I bow down before your skill, and promptly pounce you before you can pounce me. Muahahaha! Fear the pre-emptive pouncing! *coughs* Yes. Anyway, back to the point. The drabble you wrote me was wonderful, and I see no reason for you to put yourself down about your writing skills. From the little that I've seen, plus your RPing on Gaia, you seem to be an excellent writer, as well as oodles of fun. Which is in addition to your utterly rocking artistic skills. *cuddles the 'Should Be Studying' bump* And as my Transgendered Uke (well, uke for the rest of the rest of this week anyway) how can I not like you? Especially if you are foolish enough to keep gambling with Luck Incarnate! *isn't planning on taking advantage of her at all, oh no, never*

Cairnsy: I have three pages of a Virgin!Yami no Malik fic sitting on my hard drive that is all your fault. Every time that I open up Word to work, it threatens to WHACK me with a Rod unless it gets some action. Or unless he gets some action, I suppose. *coughs* The woeful tales of your gay-pr0n-addicted-Otogi amuse me greatly, even though I pity you as I read of them. Also, your knowledge of manga!Ryuuji was startlingly comprehensive and completely amazing.

Ninetails: You like Neil Gaiman. And Mastershipping. Really, those are two very good recommendations. Though the fact that your awful, terrible, suffering-filled life still manages to be written about in an interesting way probably helps as well. At any rate, I like you enough that I made you that special icon, so it looks as if even though we don't actually talk that much, I have more than enough reason to include you on this list. *grins*

Nek0-chan: You are the sole reason that I like Dangershipping to the extent that I actually requested (and received) a New Year's gift of a story with that pairing. If it wasn't for your wonderful stories, I would have never got addicted to that pairing, and possibly never realized the freaky-as-hell wonder that is Yami no Malik. In particular, I love the way that you often tie several strands of different stories together, as you did in Lamb. Not to mention that if it hadn't been for you, Crystal might have never found my livejournal! So, not only are you an awesome writer, but you're also responsible for bringing me closer to an RP-Buddy of mine.

Pikachumaniac: The newest addition to my list of writers whom I admire. I am pleased that my guess was right (though obviously not about to say anything) and stunned at the coincidence of you knowing two people who attend my university. Fic-wise, it's mostly the wording that I appreciate when it comes to your stories, since certain lines just stick in my memory and refuse to leave, but also the basic premises for your stories are excellent. I think that you're the one who got me hooked on Mastershipping to begin with, in fact. And you seem like a fun person, from what little I've read of your journal so far.

4:20 AM. I am getting offline now and continuing the current RP later. Had a lovely chat with Crystal and Kime during which we did much plotting and much character analysis (all I can say is: BEWARE! Especially for Alpha and LD, those poor hapless males) and talked to Dani for quite a few hours as well before we started RPing. *is too tired to keep typing*

*is squished to Death but applies for a special permit to return and type this message* Neil Gaiman is Life and Pratchett is Death. The Discworld Death = coolest minor/major character in the world. This world or the Discworld. XD

*blushes at the praise* I'm assuming that's your AIM IM? I use MSN usually with ficklegoddess@yahoo.com, but my AIM name is
'damienraptore', and I would be equally glad to chat with you. If nothing else, I'm expecting much random fun. ^_^

*salutes* For we all know that one day, evil will win.
