five minute Marik/Bakura ficlet
They say evil doesn’t love.
They lie.
Evil loves, evil loves the light, or more specifically the way that the light diffuses when threated, shatters into a spectrum of different colors that can be pieced together to make other colors, darker colors that evil loves more.
Evil loves, evil loves the way that green eyes widen with pain, half-close with resignation, narrow with anger and are always tinged with that slight taint of fear that can never quite be hidden.
Evil loves, evil loves the way that darkness looks at him with respect and confusion and that little hidden bit of fear that can be found in green eyes as well, but that’s only fitting of course because evil is stronger than darkness (in every way possible) and since darkness acknowledges that, evil and darkness get on quite well together.
Even though they’re not as alike as people would imagine.
Evil can love, and it loves many things.
Darkness is different, darkness is the absence of light and is therefore passive (though also immortal) and evil is the desire to do ill, to hurt others, to watch them squirm and bleed and scream... Evil is anything but passive. So, evil can do things that darkness can’t.
Evil can love.
Darkness can’t.
And therein lies the tragedy.
Author's Note: Inspired by an entry Dani wrote, pondering how Bakura would react to caring about someone. Strangely enough, Marik's the one doomed to be heartbroken here even though he's evil and the one that walked away from Bakura after sex. *shrugs* Hey, it was written in five minutes, what did you expect? Wilde-worthy prose? *still kind of likes it anyway*

I'd love to discuss that with you OOC sometime though, it sounds like it would be an interesting topic.
And yeah. Poor, pretty Marik. Heartbroken without a heart. XD

o.o' Interesting - and something good came out of it (IMO)

Oh? Yeah, if I can actually make sense of it and get any points I have across, it could be interesting. I'm also interested to hear more views in your opinion.

LoL *pokes Marik* he has a heart... just... burried very deeply... *debates on if it can be mended*....er... >.> But I won't get close enough to find out.

Usually the process of talking with someone makes me clear up my mind about my views and further develop them, so yeah. It ought to be fun.
*pokes Marik* he has a heart... just... burried very deeply... *debates on if it can be mended*....er... >.> But I won't get close enough to find out.
Make Bakura do it! XD

*cheers and privately decides to root for Dani as much as she can while still being IC*

xD Well... bird of a feather... *shrugs* Let's see if Bakura can break that field to find the heart - though he'll need Devlin and Malik's help o.o; Now to give Bakura IC reasons without him going all ... bleh and OOC...

lol. Devlin is probably going to be more of a help than Marik. Marik is trying to keep himself distanced from Devlin since he doesn't want to care about someone who he will have to kill.
IC reasons = No other way to survive Devlin's onslaughts of hugs, kisses and other such demonstrations of affection.

LoL!! Very true. Very true indeed...
