Hanging out with Kathy, RP stuff and plans for the week.

Kathy came over today at 1:30ish, during an RP with Dani which was actually going really well. I took advantage of the wait between posts to really have fun describing the surroundings and writing up answers to difficult questions to make the RP go faster, and it worked! Though to be fair, I wouldn't be able to guess her questions normally, it just was that for the situation they were in, it was obvious what Bakura would ask.

At about 2 we left the house to go Rollerblading, and did that for the next two hours. Well, I did. Kathy kept getting tired and sitting down so I'd just coast up and down the street for a while before coming back to pick her up. ^_^ Then we came back to the house, had lunch and watched "Monster" which although really good, freaked me out at parts. Like the rape scene. Artistic and non-explicit as it was, I still ended up sitting behind the couch and needing her to tell me when it was over. Yeah. *pulls a face* And some of the other scenes made me look away as well even though they were consensual...

Tomorrow, I hopefully have the whole day free for RPing, then on Wednesday I'm meeting Natasha, going Rollerblading again, going back to Natash's house, picking up Kathy and going to see Spiderman 2. I'm going to miss Kathy and Natasha so much when I'm in America. *grimace* I don't even want to think about it.

The RP today really went well, apart from the fact that it was with Dani and I always like RPing/chatting to her. Maybe it's because it was something that I had been thinking about for a while anyway. Though she brought up an interesting point in her entry, when she said that Bakura wouldn't approve of hurting children... and in the RP, Bakura has yet to find out that Devlin is a child, but knows that Marik is planning on using him as a sacrifice. So, question is, is Bakura going to protest Marik's idea? After all, considering what happened in his village, Bakura might really not like the idea of killing a child for any purpose whatsoever as it might remind him too strongly of that.

Though I don't really see Marik as the type to have any problems with hurting anyone for any purpose unless it breaks his word. From my point of view, Marik would be pretty honest because he thinks of himself as strong and unbeatable. When you think that you cannot lose, you have nothing to hide. So, unless Marik suddenly starts doubting himself, I wouldn't imagine him lying or breaking promises. And since he promised to never hurt Otogi/Devlin again, Devlin's safe. No matter how bratty he is. Please note that Marik hasn't made this promise to anyone else at all, including Bakura, though Marik has no reason to hurt Bakura.

Not that it makes much of a difference though, Marik doesn't need reasons to hurt people. He just likes doing that. And killing people. That's fun as well. So yeah, Bakura's way more predictable than Marik is, but also more 'sane', in a conventional sense. Marik, in certain moods, would just kill anything that moves because it's alive and he just wants to destroy everything. In other moods, he'd kill everything around him just because he can. He's very destruction-orientated, moreso than Bakura.

Still, he's obviously capable of plotting and planning well. BC showed that, so I think that if Marik suddenly decided to change tactics and adopt a different method of getting to his ultimate goal, he'd be a good tactician. Since he can make plans and alternative plans and splinter plans, and has a very strong personality. Sort of 'Follow me or die'. Though in the end, he'd probably kill them anyway, just because he doesn't want anything to exist. Hating everything must be rather tiring.

Back to the point though - I think that Marik probably wouldn't make a good ruler, but would make a good leader, if focused enough on his goal. Then again, Bakura also wouldn't make a good ruler which is why Devlin is necessary. Devlin can take care of the daily stuff, while Bakura enjoys the power and Marik plots the next step of his plan (what, you thought that Marik wants to rule the world? Don't be silly. He half-promised the world to Bakura, remember?).

*shrugs* What else? Oh yes. The whole trust issue. Devlin, is bound to Marik. Marik isn't worried about Devlin. Bakura? Bakura could theoretically try to stab him in the back after being given the world if he didn't trust Marik and thought that Marik would betray him. Which is why Marik is trying to get an answer as to the issue as of trust - if he knows that Bakura trusts him then Bakura will have one reason less to betray him, so Marik in turn can trust Bakura more easily. Though the thing is, Marik has too much confidance in his own abilities to really worry about being betrayed since he thinks that he can deal with it easily. Still, it's not something that he wants to have happen obviously.

Love? Hm. Difficult question that. On the face of it, most people would say no because he is hatred. For him to love would be going against his own nature. Still, he's not that extreme as if he really hated everything, he'd never get anything done because he'd spend all his time destroying the closest things to him - meaning that he'd have no time to plan. Marik's a sadist, yes, but an intelligent one. So, that means that he can feel other things besides hatred. Like amusement (finding out about the UNO game), curiousity (how Otogi and Malik think), triumph (Otogi being broken), so why not love?

I'm not saying that he'd be all sweet and sappy, but I can imagine him being just a little easier on someone whom he likes, and paying a little more attention to them. Most people wouldn't recognize it as love, because it would still be dark, twisted and to a certain extent, about power but... it would be as close to love as Marik can get. Close enough for others to recognize it as such, or for him to acknowledge it? Depends on how perceptive they are. I doubt that he'd realize it, he'd give himself logical reasons for his actions. Unless someone directly asked him if he loved them, he'd ignore the idea - and even if he was asked directly, I can imagine him going all shocked and silent. Especially if it was the person whom I'm thinking of that asked.*snickers*

But enough on that. I'll shut up now and discuss RP ideas with EKYO, Kat and Neko, and hope to catch Dani online tomorrow. I will also write Dani a postcard now that I've got her address.
