Gay Marriage Banned in Virginia.
Lovely. Just freakin' lovely.
True, it was banned already but thanks to that constitutional ban, it means they don't have to recognize marriages performed outside of the state if they were for gay couples. Lovely, lovely, lovely! Since when is love separated by geographical boundaries? How can you say that someone's marriage, their recognition of love and bond to each other, is invalid when they travel outside of a set areas?
Humans are not animals and we do not live in a zoo. Setting aside one little part of the country and giving gay people normal civil rights there but claiming those rights no apply when they travel outside of that area is ridiculous. It creates a cage built not of metal but of lines on a map. Then again, I suppose that since it's humans that decide where one state ends and another begins, I suppose it makes some sense that they'd use that as a basis of discrimination.
And yes, it is discrimination. I seriously don't see how you can argue otherwise. Giving one group a set of rights and withholding it from another is discrimination. I mean really, how do you argue with that?! Someone please explain that logic to me.

See, this is yet another reason why my ultimate dream is extinction of the human race.
And it *is* discrimination.
Bastards.

I share your dream. You are not alone. *solemn nod*

It is not fair.
And it does not make any sort of sense.

They're all bible thumpers, to include our wonderfully thick skulled pawn of a president. They all think that a book written by a mass murderer (The King James version of the bible, rewritten by King James, was altered to suit his want to wipe out those who weren't christian..thusly the Crusades were born.)
And brainless individuals that don't question what they were taught when they were young, what they were told they had to believe when they were young, were raised with the belief that "lying with another man" was evil and the work of the devil.
However, never once does it say that. Personally, I think if they would just go with the 10 commandments they all would get in to thier heaven just fine.
It all goes back to the 'if I push my beliefs on others, I have a better chance to go to heaven'. Christians don't worry about another's soul, no matter what they say. (I'm generalizing, yes I know..but it's the idiots I'm talking about in here, not the ones that actually believe that one's path is thier own.)
People are afraid of change. Afraid of what it will bring. Changing thier own mindset towards gay men and women...well...it's going to take time.
But thanks to our wonderful pawn of a president, the idiot lawmakers couldn't wait to put in thier legacy.
Yet another reason why I can't wait until my generation or yours gets old enough for running the political monopoly that our president has forged...perhaps then things will change.
