Burns.
Did some more research for DU today. Apparently the extent of damage that Seto's inflicted on his hand will result in third-degree that will most definitely scar and would probably require skin grafting to get anything fixed at all. It would be insanely expensive, and still might not help depending on how serious it is.
...And his hand is going to look disgusting.
Do not look at the following links if you're squeamish. *is personally squeamish about burn wounds*
Table showing differences between first, second and third degree burns.
Example One.
Example Two.
Example Three.
*squicked* On the bright side, Diapulse might be able to help. The relevant case is right at the bottom of the page and to get to it, you need to scroll past quite a lot of graphic injuries, inclduing a cross-section of a severed hand.
I'm leaving this post public in case anyone needs to have their RP char turn out a burn victim in the future.

...That's probably true.Eh, not shock so much as an immediate reaction, a "fuck that hurt" sort of thing, and then...kind of distanced, you know? No panic and no crying but just sort of staring. And then getting medical attention, obviously. It's not quite surreal, but it's that sort of detachment. It registers that I'm in pain, then the cause and extent of the injury, then the bizarreness of because able to see bone or whatever. Poor Yami; his reputation shot....
