calling all humanists // donations for fic

Remember my post about the Pretty Bird Woman Shelter and how it needed donations to rebuild after having been burned down? [livejournal.com profile] ceresi just posted about it again but this time, there's a twist. The following two paragraphs are taken directly from her post.

- [livejournal.com profile] stonedtodeath is offering to donate one cent per word to the Pretty Bird Woman House. I think she's into bandslash and SPN, so if those are your fandoms and you've been looking for a way to donate, check out her post here.

- [livejournal.com profile] mickeym is offering to write in exchange for donations. I can tell she's into SPN by the header of her journal, haha (mmmm, boys), so if that's your thing, go! Check out her post here.

I've now been inspired to do the same. This is my offer to donate on the behalf of other people who are low on cash but high on talent/creativity/enthusiasm.

Write me something and I'll donate a cent per word to the Pretty Bird Women House and post a screencap of a receipt that'll look like this so that'll you have some form of tangible proof of having done a good deed.

Fandoms that I heart are:

Animorphs, Archie Comics, Batman/DC*, Batman Beyond, Big Wolf on Campus, Bruno and Boots, Chrestomanci, Discworld, Fables, Good Omens, Gravitation, Greek Mythology, Gundam Wing, Harry Potter, Hercules (Disney), Mighty Ducks, Mulan (Disney), Othello (the manga), Petshop of Horrors, Pokemon, Sailor Moon season R, Smallville, Spiderman, Stick It, Sweet Valley, The Authority, Yu-Gi-Oh.

See? Plenty of options. And if you still want to make a donation through me but can't write for any of those fandoms, drop me a comment with what you can write for and I'll choose something. I really want to get as many people as possible involved in this somehow.

The fundraiser ends on the 31st of Jan, so you can drop in any time before then unless I run out of money before then. To keep track of how donations from this post are going, I'll be editing this every time someone contributes. Please feel free to link to this post in your own journal or spread it wherever you want.

Total:

2415 / 7000 words. 63% done, 44.15 dollars contributed!

HAHAHA, HERE'S SOMETHING TO TIDE YOU OVER TILL SCHOOL IS DONE MAKING ME DEAD, OKAY? This is something I had planned for my bandom/Animorphs crossover that's probably never going to happen, oh well.

<Crap,> Tobias said as the last of my fingers melted into paws and a tail came sprouting of my . . . well, you know. <Cassie, we've got a problem. It's Mikey and Gerard.>

Bunny's mind was calm and surprisingly easy to control. I'd never morphed a cat before -- that was Rachel -- amd especially never a cat on a tour bus. I'd been expecting something jumpier, more nervous, but this was . . . peaceful. Content. Happy. The smell of dirty clothes, overpowering to a human, were even stronger now but somehow familiar, reassuring. Even the rumbling of the engine was soothing. The bus that had seemed like a heap of scrap metal was suddenly home, the best place in the world, full of nooks and crannies to sleep and snoop in. And now that I was paying attention. . . .

<I don't think they're going back to the bus,> Tobias continued. <I think there's an interview or . . . I lost them! They went inside the room with the Controller!>

There was something making noise, but it wasn't important. I stuck my nose out from under the bunk and sniffed.

Yes!

I ran out as fast as I could and crashed into someone's heels. He laughed, and a large hand picked me up. "Hang on, hang on, I'm pouring it out."

I meowed and struggled, trying to get to the food dish. After what felt like forever -- food! right there, food! the good crunchy kind, oooooh, food! -- the human put me back down. "There you go, Bunny. Chow time."

Someone laughed. I shoved my nose in the bowl and started chowing.

<Cassie,> Tobias said. A pause. <Cassie!>

I growled, but didn't stop eating. Someone was saying my name? Was someone coming to take my food? I started eating faster and almost choked.

<Good grief,> Tobias muttered. <I don't believe it. Cassie! Snap out of it! We're kind of in the middle of an emergency here!>

I glanced up to make sure nobody was coming to steal my food, and went back to eating. Voices sounded as the door swooshed open, admitting outside smells and half a dozen pairs of feet.

<Cassie,> Tobias said, <you know, I think they put chicken guts in that stuff.>

For some reason, that was what did it. I spit out a mouthful of kitty kibble and started sneezing uncontrollably as it went up my nose.

<There you go,> Tobias said smugly. <About time.>
