No new accounts for me on eljay, even for RPGs.
Why?
Basic accounts can no longer be created.
In other words, you either have to face ads or you get a Paid account. Want to know what makes this worse?
They didn't announce it publicly. The only hint of it is in a comment to the news post.
Basically, that means that I am OUT of el-jay RPing unless I recycle an old journal because I sure as hell refuse to create a Plus account when it fucks over everything so much and when they PROMISED it would never happen.
iJay's got ads, yeah, but at least they're honest about it. This was x-posted from my iJay (

I'm just more amused reading the crap that these things cause than I am bothered about what actually goes on.
Personally though, I can't work with IJ. xD Fair enough it has more icons (that I wouldn't use anyway) but the layout is so horrible. x_x LJ is prettier. :D <3

And I let my paid account expire as a protest, and none of my roleplay accounts are Plus. They're all basic, since I hate ads -- though with AdBlock on, I probably wouldn't notice even if I chose to upgrade them. XD It's more an issue of OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE, WHHHHHY DON'T YOU TELL US THESE THINGS?
And ijay has some new layouts that are lovely! I'm using Worksafe and Dramatic there both of which are sidebars. First is shades of black, grey and white, second is orange and white. I'm not a big fan of orange but c'mon, all the free icons? What other reason is there to have a Plus account on eljay if not for the icons anyway? XD

I use plus accounts because the selection of layouts is better. :] I use the expressive layouts, and you get more options on a plus account. :D I never use enough icons to need a lot of icon spaces, anyway. xD
But yeah, I can see that they should have said something about it first. D:
