FICKLE. Come yell with me about Wayward Children and how much I love it!!! I cannot overemphasize how mad I am that moving expenses meant I have to wait on COME TUMBLING DOWN because I WANT TO READ ABOUT MY GIRLS SO BADLY.

IT WAS LITERALLY THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW AN ASEXUAL CHARACTER, I FELL IN LOVE IMMEDIATELY!!!

Nancy is nothing like me in so many ways but gods, the way she thought and spoke and explained herself was just. Everything.

And JACK AND JILL, AHHHHH. I died so much at the backstory for them, at Jill wanting the Count and Jack's GIRLFRIEND and the fact that Seanan McGuire actually EXPLAINED how periods work and how the two of them deal with them in different ways. AHHHHHHHHH.

Also I pre-ordered Come Tumbling Down and it's sitting on my Kindle. I'm saving it for an emergency because her books are such a good way of getting me out of my head that I refuse to use them for anything except Dire Need.

Jack's OCD comes out more in this book, I think. She specifically wrote Jack as having a very similar neuroatypicality and I am Super Looking Forward to it.

(I cried at Cora. I felt seen in such a kind way. I will cry again when she feels she's built up enough trust to write Kade's book.)

Oooooh. I utterly love Jack, honestly,. and their whole setting but YES, Cora was awesome! And the mythology of the baker and the planet being cooked up layer by layer was just. So so clever and so delicious and makes such perfect in a twisted way.

KADE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. GOBLIN PRINCESS INDEED. FAIRYLAND GOT IT WRONG WHEN THEY KICKED HIM OUT.

Also brown char, did I mention how much yay for actual brown chars in actual fiction who are AWESOME?

TBH I cannot overemphasize how invested I am in Jack and Jill and their horrible fascinating twined-around-each-other lives. I really want the omake where we have a snippet of what their lives would have been had Jill not overstepped -- Jill the vampire lady of the manor and Jack the mad scientist across the hill, and which of them, really, might save you?

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO KADE SO MUCH. SO SO MUCH.

I really appreciate the work she puts in to make sure her books reflect her friends and their lives. Like, she's a white queer disabled cis woman, but that doesn't mean the rest of the world looks like she does.
