Icon set done!
So, I finally finished my Mai/Ryuuji icon set for the Dresden Dolls song.
I also talked myself out of feeling guilty for liking Ryuuji/Mai - I kind of didn't like the idea that I was splitting up two canon crushes (Jou/Mai, Ryuuji/Shizuka) but after all, a ton of people like Seto/Anzu which is equally non-canonical and also splits up two possible pairings.
*isn't feeling guilty at all about making Ryuuji/Mai icons, nope, not at all, even though she had to do a ton of photo-manips*
So yeah, here are the lyrics used:

Exactly, don't feel guilty and - I'll comment on the icons themselves... below.
First: very nice. I'm still impressed that you can get the text to be seen at that size and style. I really like music notes behind it for that particular line as well. And that it does look like Ryuuji's got his hand on Mai's shoulder.
Second: -- already said how much I love this one.
Third: already commented on this one as well ;P
Fourth: *smirks* Their expressions matching so well ROCK and the way it looks like her hand is against Ryuuji's face <33 They look possessive of each other too ^^;;
Fifth: Awesome. Her looking angry with those words and with that scene and the red text - AWESOME.
Sixth: T_T Happy faces, yet makes me sad ^^;; I like it though, very nice - very nice. Awesome awesomeness.
And that last one, at a glance, looks like Ryuuji's got Mai's hand in his - though, I look again and I see he doesn't ^^; But it looks like he very well could. And the way it looks like they're looking at each other <33

I was getting worried by the long silence. ^^;
The first one I did after
Second and third, we already discussed, though I still want to redo the third somehow. ~_~
Fourth XDDDD, I love the way they're both scowling as they admit that they could be convinced -like they don't want to be away from each other, or they don't like the idea of falling in love. And I like the way that she looks like she could have her hand against Ryuuji's face even though her expression is angry.
Fifth is probably my favorite. I just found the background then decided to colorize the image and it came out so stunningly well. That one just rocks.
Sixth, I think that neither of them would be willing to admit that they're unhappy at the idea of parting, which is why they're smiling.
Seventh, I didn't even realize that it looked a little like they were holding hands! And they look so angry/challenging about people not giving up on trying to prove 'it', whatever that may be for these icons. XD
And I can't do it, because kkn is down so I don't have the image bases.

*nods* Yep. Or both. They don't want to be away and they don't like that idea - contradicting thoughts and annoyed by it :P Something like that ~.~; Perhaps, but her expression just makes me also think, "Regardless of what I say/think, I'm allowed to do this." And just... does it b/c she can.

You tried to make your own font? @_@ awesomeness! The font i used is called Opus.
I want to get rid of the halo around Ryuuji. He's not meant to glow like that.

I mean... uhh... what did I mean? X_x I don't remember what I meant!! Uhh... Oooh!! For the musical notes! I usually just went ahead, pixel by pixel, to make my own bars/musical notes/staff and all rather than searching for one premade. Opus? >.> I should look that up as well.

Yeah, the one saying plastic fantasy - I think that I'll have to redo that one. ^^;
@_@ I don't need to redraw it, Mai's hand is actually behind Ryuuji's head in that one. I could easily just reposition them so that he's holding her hand, if I can erase the backgrounds again.
