Patriot icons, anyway?

Want an icon like the above? Comment with a link to a photo of you (unless I know what you look like already) or with a doll of you, and what flag you want. I know that many of you guys are multiracial, so you get to choose which origin you want to flaunt.

I can't do multiple flags in one icon, sorry. ♥

So, as most of you know, I was born in LA, travelled around the world until I was four, spent a year in Australia, then lived in Austria until I was eighteen, at which point I moved to America for college.

And yet, my patriot pride icon is a Sri Lankan one, even though I'm only Sri Lankan genetically and fly down there twice a year at the most. I'm not a good Sri Lankan girl -- I don't have long hair, have no plans on getting married, am not Buddhist, wear inappropriate clothing, have no interest in tele-dramas and think the civil war is stupid. I think Sri Lanka has too many mosquitoes and I hate the way guys stare at me when I'm there. The crime rate is appalling and the Sri Lankan tendency to create traffic jams out of nothing more than a cart and a bullock is insane.

None of that really matters, though, because when it comes down to it, Sri Lanka is a tiny little island shaped like a teardrop, and it's where I come from. That's why my icon doesn't say 'American Pride'; there are already enough Americans around to be proud of their homeland. I think it's time someone took a turn at being proud of being Sri Lankan.

And hey, at least we never invaded Iraq.

If it really bugs you to make another Polish, go ahead and make an Irish one. I am as much Irish as I am Polish as far as I care, even if people never consider me to be Irish (my father was 50/50 Polish/Irish, but our last name is 100%). I usually just claim Polish because of the very obvious last name and the fact that over half my heritage is Eastern European. Still, I may yet change my last name to Kelly, and two random guys I met were debating with each other becasue one thought I looked Polish and the other though I looked Irish. xD

But, if you ever have any inspiration to remake the Polish icon, consider it? You see, for superficial reasons, the Irish flag tragically has none of my favourite colours. My favourite colour is red. lol.

Tada. You got an Irish one :P But I really do think it's cooler than the Polish one because I tend to associate you with green, weirdly enough.
