( Meme, which explains the subject line )Now for an explanation of pool.
First time I ever played pool was quite a few years ago, with my male cousin Nilupa who is quite a few years older than me, and at the time, affected black nailpolish and all-black clothing. Gothic, you might say. I can't remember if I was good at it or not, but I had lots of fun, so on Monday, when I saw the bowling alley had a pool section, I asked about prices and decided to go there with Kathy on Friday.
Friday was yesterday - we played for an hour and half, I beat her at both games, first 8-7, then 11-5. I swear, it was so amazing! I mean, we weren't playing by difficult rules or anything, we just took turns to hit the white ball into other balls and you could get the balls in the pockets in any order you like, but still, it was just utterly WOW.
I apparently ROCK at pool. Seriously. I'd line up the cue, take a shot, hit the ball I wanted, it would do some crazy rebound thing, hit another ball and the second ball would go into the pocket. Without me intending it to. I was pulling off by sheer luck the kind of shots that pros practice, all insane rebounds and multi-clicks!
The second game was especially funny, because I had started off the first one, so Kathy started the second. She kept either missing the white ball and hitting the air completely, or hitting the white ball at such a weird angle that it just rebounded off the edges of the table without actually even touching the triangle. Anyway, it took her ten tries until she managed to break up the triangle even a little (and believe me, it was only a little), so then it was my shot. I lined it up, hit it hard and WHAM! Two balls went into a pocket, one after the other. XD
I lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove pool! Kathy had fun too, even though she lost (she's cool like that), so we're going to do it again some time. Putting music on the jukebox was fun too, though kinda expensive at a dollar for three songs.
Anyway, moral of the story?
Never play pool with Luck.
